A covey of Bobwhite contains about 13 birds. When faced with danger the bird usually will freeze. If flushed the covey will fly in many different directions. When a covey is broken each bird will make a call Whoo-ee-Whoo, too so were they are to the rest of the covey.
As a whole the number of Bobwhite (like most Upland Birds) is decreasing do to "clean farming."
