Daily Movements
Cover generally holds a lot of pheasants in the morning and evenings. Weather conditions and heavy hunting will cause shifts in movements.

A "typical" day will kinda look like this;
Just after sunrise, they will leave they roosting cover, stopping for gravel on their way to the morning feeding. They will generally feed for 1 to 2 hours then will move to loafing cover like a grassy fringe or fence row, or to their roosting cover. About an hour or two before sundown they will feed again. Then return to their roosting cover for the night.

Generally speaking they will not leave an area of a half mile in diameter.

In extreme cold or heavy snow they tend to hold in heavy cover.
Heavy dew will keep them from the grass.
On warmer days they will stay out longer looking for food.
Finally, during hunting season, they hold tight in heavy cover.
