Mourning Dove
Harvesters bag more than 50 million dove a year. This harvest will not hurt the dove population, which is estimated to be well over 500 million!

Doves hate cold weather and will start the migratory cycle upon the first below freezing night of fall. Migratory flocks usually contain around a dozen birds, but may have more than 100.

Dove harvesting is rewarding as well as challenging. No hunting dog is needed, but usually I take mine just to let her run and get conditioned for pheasant season. They also are very good eating!
